What is the importance of living aligned with our personal values?
Values
Did you know, values are our moral practices and ethics too? They are the core of a person’s life, rules to lives by. It is an ongoing process of prioritizing moral principles in life and setting do’s and don’ts for numerous things. Values can also be defined as a practice of bonding with your standards which you can never compromise on.
Our Core Values define us.
Self Development
Improving ourselves for a better life is an ongoing process since we were born. If you aim to set some principles for your life, you will start to develop a renewed life.
Have you ever thought about why Nelson Mandela was famous? He served as a President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. There have been many other presidents elected, but why did he outshine the others? Not just because he had been a good politician or a fair president, it’s because he had core values to live by and follow. His vision of life was amazing because of his unique approach. Nelson Mandela was an inspirational leader we can learn from his wonderful example and legacy he has left the world.
Decisive
A person with good values is capable of making the right decision at the right time.
If you want to become competent enough to make decisions wisely, then set some rules for life. A wise and inspiring personality can only exist when you stand by your values. Those values can change your vision and make you a winner.
Values train you to do well in your life, be it your personal or professional life. It makes you a sensible and wise person.
Do values really define a person’s growth?
You are known for your approach towards life. The way we make decisions and take action in life all depends upon the core values we define.
“When clearly defined, your values will simplify your decision-making process and will create fertile soil for you to flourish”.
A person with strong values is a person of principles. No power can defeat her, because she is consistent in life and makes sound decisions.
“Great people have great values and great ethics” –Jeffery Gotimer
Can values be adapted?
There are two types of values; the ones we learn from the family we are born in and the ones we learn from life experiences. Every family or culture follows a certain set of values defined by their environment, culture, religion, or society. They live by them to maintain a standard for their lives.
Values are something that can evolve and change as we grow. But it certainly doesn’t mean you should feel hopeless. Values can be adapted at any stage of life regardless of your age. Values define your growth and success because they make you a strong person with a strong personality.
